How To Install fgetty on Kali Linux

on Kali Linux.
What is fgetty
fgetty is:
fgetty is a small, efficient, console-only getty for Linux. It is derived from mingetty but hacked until it would link against diet libc to produce the smallest memory footprint possible for a simple yet complete getty.
fgetty includes a login program that supports the checkpassword authentication interface, and also a checkpassword program that uses the standard C library interface to passwd and shadow.
There are three methods to install fgetty
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fgetty Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fgetty
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fgetty

After updating apt database, We can install fgetty
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fgetty
Install fgetty Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install fgetty
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fgetty
How To Uninstall fgetty on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the fgetty
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fgetty
Uninstall fgetty And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fgetty
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fgetty
Remove fgetty Configurations and Data
To remove fgetty
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fgetty
