How To Install fftw2-devel on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install fftw2-devel on CentOS 8.
What is fftw2-devel
FFTW is a C subroutine library for computing the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) in one or more dimensions, of both real and complex data, and of arbitrary input size. We believe that FFTW, which is free software, should become the FFT library of choice for most applications. Our benchmarks, performed on on a variety of platforms, show that FFTW’s performance is typically superior to that of other publicly available FFT software. This package contains header files and development libraries needed to develop programs using the FFTW fast Fourier transform library version 2.
We can use yum or dnf to install fftw2-devel on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install fftw2-devel.
Install fftw2-devel on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install fftw2-devel using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install fftw2-devel
Install fftw2-devel on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install fftw2-devel using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install fftw2-devel
How To Uninstall fftw2-devel on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the fftw2-devel package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove fftw2-devel
