How To Install fcitx5-module-lua on Debian 12

Fcitx5 is the next generation of fcitx input method framework. It provides pleasant and modern input experience with intuitive graphical configuration tools. The framework is highly extensible with support for GTK+ and Qt toolkits, DBus interfaces, a large variety of desktop environments and a developer-friendly API.

This package provides the Lua support for Fcitx5.
There are three methods to install fcitx5-module-lua on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fcitx5-module-lua Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fcitx5-module-lua using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fcitx5-module-lua

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
