How To Install fcitx-mozc on Kali Linux

What is fcitx-mozc
fcitx-mozc is:
Fcitx is a input method framework with extension support, which provides an interface for entering characters of different scripts in applications using a variety of mapping systems.
It offers a pleasant and modern experience, with intuitive graphical configuration tools and customizable skins and mapping tables. It is highly modularized and extensible, with GTK+ 2/3 and Qt4 IM Modules, support for UIs based on Fbterm, pure Xlib, GTK+, or KDE, and a developer-friendly API.
fcitx-mozc provides client part of the Mozc input method.
There are three methods to install fcitx-mozc
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fcitx-mozc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fcitx-mozc
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fcitx-mozc
Install fcitx-mozc Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install fcitx-mozc
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fcitx-mozc
Install fcitx-mozc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install fcitx-mozc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fcitx-mozc
How To Uninstall fcitx-mozc on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the fcitx-mozc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fcitx-mozc
Uninstall fcitx-mozc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fcitx-mozc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fcitx-mozc
Remove fcitx-mozc Configurations and Data
To remove fcitx-mozc
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fcitx-mozc
Remove fcitx-mozc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fcitx-mozc
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fcitx-mozc
