How To Install fatattr on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install fatattr on Kali Linux.
What is fatattr
fatattr is:
FAT filesystems contain several attributes which do not map cleanly onto Unix attributes; this utility allow these to be controlled directly by unprivileged users on any mounted FAT partition.
There are three methods to install fatattr on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fatattr Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fatattr using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fatattrInstall fatattr Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fatattr using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fatattrInstall fatattr Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fatattr using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the fatattr package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove fatattrRemove fatattr Configurations and Data
To remove fatattr configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fatattrRemove fatattr configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
