How To Install fast5 on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install fast5 on Kali Linux.
What is fast5
fast5 is:
The data produced by Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) sequencers are stored in fast5 files, based on the HDF5 file format, with one file per sequenced read. This package provides utilities to inspect these files, as well as to pack them for more effficient use.
There are three methods to install fast5 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fast5 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fast5 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fast5Install fast5 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fast5 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fast5Install fast5 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install fast5 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fast5How To Uninstall fast5 on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the fast5 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fast5Uninstall fast5 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fast5 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fast5Remove fast5 Configurations and Data
To remove fast5 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fast5Remove fast5 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fast5 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fast5Dependencies
