What is exciting-species

exciting is a full-potential all-electron density-functional-theory (DFT) package implementing the families of linearized augmented planewave (LAPW) methods. It can be applied to all kinds of materials, irrespective of the atomic species involved, and also allows for exploring the physics of core electrons. A particular focus are excited states within many-body perturbation theory (MBPT). This package contains the species files.

We can use yum or dnf to install exciting-species on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install exciting-species.

Install exciting-species on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install exciting-species using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install exciting-species

Install exciting-species on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install exciting-species using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install exciting-species

How To Uninstall exciting-species on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the exciting-species package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove exciting-species
