How To Install evince on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install evince on AlmaLinux 8.
What is evince
Evince is simple multi-page document viewer. It can display and print Portable Document Format (PDF), PostScript (PS) and Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) files. When supported by the document format, evince allows searching for text, copying text to the clipboard, hypertext navigation, table-of-contents bookmarks and editing of forms.
We can use yum or dnf to install evince on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install evince.
Install evince on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install evince using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install evince
Install evince on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install evince using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install evince
How To Uninstall evince on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the evince package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove evince
