How To Install esix on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install esix on Kali Linux.
What is esix
esix is:
ESI-X was the first stored program scientific interpreter for the PDP-8. ESI was designed by Dave Waks on 8/3/66 and was vaguely based on RAND’s JOSS. In 1967 Bob Supnik extended the program to support 8KW of memory, and this became the “ESI-extended” or ESI-X FOCAL was eventually the successor of ESI-X.
There are three methods to install esix on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install esix Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install esix using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install esixInstall esix Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install esix using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install esixInstall esix Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install esix using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install esixHow To Uninstall esix on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the esix package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove esixUninstall esix And Its Dependencies
To uninstall esix and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove esixRemove esix Configurations and Data
To remove esix configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge esixRemove esix configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge esixDependencies
