How To Install epydoc on CentOS 7
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install epydoc on CentOS 7.
What is epydoc
Epydoc is a tool for generating API documentation for Python modules, based on their docstrings. For an example of epydoc’s output, see the API documentation for epydoc itself (html, pdf). A lightweight markup language called epytext can be used to format docstrings, and to add information about specific fields, such as parameters and instance variables. Epydoc also understands docstrings written in ReStructuredText, Javadoc, and plaintext.
We can use yum or dnf to install epydoc on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install epydoc.
Install epydoc on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install epydoc using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install epydoc
Install epydoc on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install epydoc using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install epydoc
How To Uninstall epydoc on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the epydoc package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove epydoc
