How To Install emmax on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install emmax on Kali Linux.

What is emmax

emmax is:

EMMAX is a statistical test for large scale human or model organism association mapping accounting for the sample structure. In addition to the computational efficiency obtained by EMMA algorithm, EMMAX takes advantage of the fact that each locus explains only a small fraction of complex traits, which allows one to avoid repetitive variance component estimation procedure, resulting in a significant amount of increase in computational time of association mapping using mixed model.

There are three methods to install emmax on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install emmax Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install emmax using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install emmax

Install emmax Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install emmax using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install emmax

Install emmax Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install emmax using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install emmax

How To Uninstall emmax on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the emmax package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove emmax

Uninstall emmax And Its Dependencies

To uninstall emmax and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove emmax

Remove emmax Configurations and Data

To remove emmax configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge emmax
