How To Install emboss on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install emboss on Kali Linux.
What is emboss
emboss is:
EMBOSS is a free Open Source software analysis package specially developed for the needs of the molecular biology (e.g. EMBnet) user community. The software automatically copes with data in a variety of formats and even allows transparent retrieval of sequence data from the web. Also, as extensive libraries are provided with the package, it is a platform to allow other scientists to develop and release software in true open source spirit. EMBOSS also integrates a range of currently available packages and tools for sequence analysis into a seamless whole. EMBOSS breaks the historical trend towards commercial software packages.
There are three methods to install emboss on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install emboss Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install emboss using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install embossInstall emboss Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install emboss using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install embossInstall emboss Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the emboss package we can use the following command:

To uninstall emboss and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove embossRemove emboss Configurations and Data
To remove emboss configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
