What is elfutils-libelf
The elfutils-libelf package provides a DSO which allows reading and writing ELF files on a high level. Third party programs depend on this package to read internals of ELF files. The programs of the elfutils package use it also to generate new ELF files.
We can use yum or dnf to install elfutils-libelf on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install elfutils-libelf.
Install elfutils-libelf on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install elfutils-libelf using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install elfutils-libelf
Install elfutils-libelf on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install elfutils-libelf using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install elfutils-libelf
How To Uninstall elfutils-libelf on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the elfutils-libelf package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove elfutils-libelf
