How To Install efax-gtk on Debian 9

on Debian 9.
What is efax-gtk
efax-gtk is:
efax-gtk is a GTK+ front end for the efax program. It can be used to send and receive faxes with a fax modem, and to view, print and manage faxes received.
It also has a socket interface to provide a “virtual printer” for sending faxes from word processors and similar programs, and can automatically e-mail a received fax to a designated user, and automatically print a received fax.
There are three methods to install efax-gtk
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install efax-gtk Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install efax-gtk
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install efax-gtk

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install efax-gtk
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install efax-gtk
Install efax-gtk Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install efax-gtk
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install efax-gtk
How To Uninstall efax-gtk on Debian 9
To uninstall only the efax-gtk
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove efax-gtk
Uninstall efax-gtk And Its Dependencies
To uninstall efax-gtk
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove efax-gtk
Remove efax-gtk Configurations and Data
To remove efax-gtk
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge efax-gtk
Remove efax-gtk configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
