How To Install e2guardian on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install e2guardian on Kali Linux.
What is e2guardian
e2guardian is:
e2guardian filters the content of pages based on many methods including phrase matching, PICS filtering and URL filtering. It does not purely filter based on a banned list of sites.
It provides real-time virus scanning capabilities for content access.
e2guardian is designed to be completely flexible and allows you to tailor the filtering to your exact needs. It can be as draconian or as unobstructive as you want. The default settings are geared towards what a primary school might want but e2guardian puts you in control of what you want to block.
e2guardian requires squid or another similar caching proxy server on your local network.
There are three methods to install e2guardian on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install e2guardian Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install e2guardian using apt-get by running the following command:

To uninstall only the e2guardian package we can use the following command:

To uninstall e2guardian and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove e2guardianRemove e2guardian Configurations and Data
To remove e2guardian configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge e2guardianRemove e2guardian configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
