How To Install dune on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install dune on Kali Linux.
What is dune
dune is:
Dune is a build system designed for OCaml/Reason projects only. It focuses on providing the user with a consistent experience and takes care of most of the low-level details of OCaml compilation. All you have to do is provide a description of your project and Dune will do the rest.
ocaml-dune was previously called dune; this is a transitional package, which can be safely removed.
There are three methods to install dune on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install dune Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dune using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install duneInstall dune Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dune using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install duneInstall dune Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dune using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install duneHow To Uninstall dune on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the dune package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove duneUninstall dune And Its Dependencies
To uninstall dune and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove duneRemove dune Configurations and Data
To remove dune configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge duneRemove dune configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove dune configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge duneDependencies
