How To Install dpic on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install dpic on Kali Linux.
What is dpic
dpic is:
dpic accepts a tight subset of the pic drawing language accepted by GNU pic (sometimes named gpic) or AT&T pic, and emits lower-level drawing commands for insertion into LaTeX documents, for processing by the xfig or Inkscape drawing tools, or for direct display as encapsulated Postscript, PDF, or SVG. LaTeX-compatible output can contain arbitrary text for formatting. Commands to be passed through to the postprocessor (PSTricks, Tikz-pgf, etc.) can be included.
There are three methods to install dpic on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install dpic Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dpic using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install dpicInstall dpic Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dpic using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install dpicInstall dpic Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dpic using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install dpicHow To Uninstall dpic on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the dpic package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove dpicUninstall dpic And Its Dependencies
To uninstall dpic and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove dpicRemove dpic Configurations and Data
To remove dpic configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge dpicRemove dpic configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove dpic configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge dpicDependencies
