How To Install docdiff on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install docdiff on Kali Linux.
What is docdiff
docdiff is:
DocDiff compares two files and shows the difference. It can compare files word by word, char by char, or line by line.
It has several output formats such as HTML/XHTML, tty, Manued, or user-defined markup. It supports several encodings and end-of-line characters, including ASCII, UTF-8, EUC-JP, Shift_JIS, CR, LF, and CRLF.
There are three methods to install docdiff on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install docdiff Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install docdiff using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install docdiffInstall docdiff Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install docdiff using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install docdiffInstall docdiff Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install docdiff using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install docdiffHow To Uninstall docdiff on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the docdiff package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove docdiffUninstall docdiff And Its Dependencies
To uninstall docdiff and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove docdiffRemove docdiff Configurations and Data
To remove docdiff configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge docdiffRemove docdiff configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove docdiff configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
