What is dnshistory

dnshistory is:

Provide a means for storing a history of DNS/Name changes for the IP Addresses extracted from web log files. The major target being that multiple analyses of older log files do not require re-lookups of IP Address to FQDNs, and additionally maintain the accuracy of the lookup as it was then and not as it is now.

There are three methods to install dnshistory on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install dnshistory Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install dnshistory using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install dnshistory

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install dnshistory using apt by running the following command:

Install dnshistory Using aptitude
