How To Install dnaclust on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install dnaclust on Kali Linux.
What is dnaclust
dnaclust is:
dnaclust is a tool for clustering large number of short DNA sequences. The clusters are created in such a way that the “radius” of each clusters is no more than the specified threshold.
The input sequences to be clustered should be in Fasta format. The id of each sequence is based on the first word of the seqeunce in the Fasta format. The first word is the prefix of the header up to the first occurrence of white space characters in the header.
There are three methods to install dnaclust on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install dnaclust Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dnaclust using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install dnaclustInstall dnaclust Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dnaclust using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install dnaclustInstall dnaclust Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dnaclust using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install dnaclustHow To Uninstall dnaclust on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the dnaclust package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove dnaclustUninstall dnaclust And Its Dependencies
To uninstall dnaclust and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove dnaclustRemove dnaclust Configurations and Data
To remove dnaclust configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge dnaclustRemove dnaclust configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove dnaclust configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge dnaclustDependencies
