How To Install dmlite-dpmdisk on CentOS 7

In this tutorial we learn how to install dmlite-dpmdisk on CentOS 7.
What is dmlite-dpmdisk
The LCG Disk Pool Manager (DPM) creates a storage element from a set of disks. It provides several interfaces for storing and retrieving data such as RFIO and SRM version 1, version 2 and version 2.2. This is a virtual package providing all required daemons for a DPM Disk Node.
We can use yum or dnf to install dmlite-dpmdisk on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install dmlite-dpmdisk.
Install dmlite-dpmdisk on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install dmlite-dpmdisk using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install dmlite-dpmdisk
Install dmlite-dpmdisk on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install dmlite-dpmdisk using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install dmlite-dpmdisk
How To Uninstall dmlite-dpmdisk on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the dmlite-dpmdisk package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove dmlite-dpmdisk
