How To Install dlint on Debian 9
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install dlint
on Debian 9.
What is dlint
dlint is:
This program analyzes any DNS zone you specify, and reports any problems it finds by displaying errors and warnings. Then it descends recursively to examine all zones below the given one (this can be disabled with a command- line option).
You don’t have to feed any BIND conffiles to Dlint. Dlint uses nameserver calls to gather information.
Designed for Unix, dlint is written in Bourne Shell and Perl.
There are three methods to install dlint
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install dlint Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install dlint
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install dlint

How To Uninstall dlint on Debian 9
To uninstall only the dlint
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove dlint

To uninstall dlint
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove dlint
Remove dlint Configurations and Data
To remove dlint
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge dlint
