What is distro-info-data

distro-info-data is:

Information about all releases of Debian and Ubuntu. The distro-info script will give you the codename for e.g. the latest stable release of your distribution. To get information about a specific distribution there are the debian-distro-info and the ubuntu-distro-info scripts.

This package contains the data files.

There are three methods to install distro-info-data on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install distro-info-data Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install distro-info-data using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install distro-info-data

Install distro-info-data Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install distro-info-data using apt by running the following command:
