How To Install directvnc on Kali Linux

What is directvnc
directvnc is:
DirectVNC is a client implementing the remote framebuffer protocol (rfb) which is used by VNC servers. If a VNC server is running on a machine you can connect to it using this client and have the contents of its display shown on your screen. Keyboard and mouse events are sent to the server, so you can basically control a VNC server remotely.
There are three methods to install directvnc
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install directvnc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install directvnc
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install directvnc

After updating apt database, We can install directvnc
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install directvnc
Install directvnc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install directvnc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install directvnc
How To Uninstall directvnc on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the directvnc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove directvnc
Uninstall directvnc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall directvnc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove directvnc
Remove directvnc Configurations and Data
To remove directvnc
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge directvnc
Remove directvnc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove directvnc
