How To Install dillo on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install dillo on Kali Linux.

What is dillo

dillo is:

Dillo 3 is a graphical multi-platform web browser known for its speed and small footprint. It is based on version 1.3 of the Fast and Light Toolkit (FLTK) in version 1.3

It aims to be small in resources, stable, developer-friendly, usable, very fast, and extensible.

To run the included dillo-install-hyphenation script the recommended perl packages need to be installed.

There are three methods to install dillo on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install dillo Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install dillo using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install dillo

Install dillo Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install dillo using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install dillo

Install dillo Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install dillo using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install dillo

How To Uninstall dillo on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the dillo package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove dillo

Uninstall dillo And Its Dependencies

To uninstall dillo and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove dillo

Remove dillo Configurations and Data

To remove dillo configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge dillo

Remove dillo configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove dillo configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge dillo
