How To Install dicomscope on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install dicomscope on Kali Linux.
What is dicomscope
dicomscope is:
DICOMscope is a free DICOM viewer which can display uncompressed, monochrome DICOM images from all modalities and which supports monitor calibration according to DICOM part 14 as well as presentation states.
DICOMscope offers a print client (DICOM Basic Grayscale Print Management) which also implements the optional Presentation LUT SOP Class.
The development of this prototype was commissioned by the “Committee for the Advancement of DICOM” and demonstrated at the European Congress of Radiology ECR 1999. An enhanced version was developed for the “DICOM Display Consistency Demonstration” at RSNA InfoRAD 1999.
The current release has been demonstrated at ECR 2001 and contains numerous extensions, including a print server, support for encrypted DICOM communication, digital signatures and structured reporting.
There are three methods to install dicomscope on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install dicomscope Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install dicomscope using apt-get by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the dicomscope package we can use the following command:

To uninstall dicomscope and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove dicomscopeRemove dicomscope Configurations and Data
To remove dicomscope configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge dicomscopeRemove dicomscope configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
