How To Install designate-sink on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install designate-sink on Debian 12.
What is designate-sink
designate-sink is:
Designate provides DNSaaS services for OpenStack. It provides a multi-tenant REST API for domain & record management. It is Integrated with Keystone for authentication, and provides a framework in place to integrate with Nova and Neutron notifications (for auto-generated records). Designate supports PowerDNS and Bind9 out of the box.
This package provides the sink service. It is an optional service which listens for event Notifications, such as compute.instance.create.end, handlers are available for Nova and Neutron. Notification events can then be used to trigger record creation & deletion.
The current sink implementations generate simple forward lookup A records, using a format specified in handler-nova configuration. Any field in the event notification can be used to generate a record.
There are three methods to install designate-sink on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install designate-sink Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install designate-sink using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install designate-sink
Install designate-sink Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install designate-sink using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install designate-sink
Install designate-sink Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install designate-sink using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install designate-sink
How To Uninstall designate-sink on Debian 12
To uninstall only the designate-sink package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove designate-sink

Remove designate-sink Configurations and Data
To remove designate-sink configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
