How To Install designate-mdns on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install designate-mdns on Kali Linux.
What is designate-mdns
designate-mdns is:
Designate provides DNSaaS services for OpenStack. It provides a multi-tenant REST API for domain & record management. It is Integrated with Keystone for authentication, and provides a framework in place to integrate with Nova and Neutron notifications (for auto-generated records). Designate supports PowerDNS and Bind9 out of the box.
This package provides the mdns service.
There are three methods to install designate-mdns on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install designate-mdns Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install designate-mdns using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install designate-mdnsInstall designate-mdns Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install designate-mdns using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install designate-mdnsInstall designate-mdns Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install designate-mdns using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install designate-mdnsHow To Uninstall designate-mdns on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the designate-mdns package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove designate-mdnsUninstall designate-mdns And Its Dependencies
To uninstall designate-mdns and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove designate-mdnsRemove designate-mdns Configurations and Data
To remove designate-mdns configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge designate-mdnsRemove designate-mdns configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove designate-mdns configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
