What is deluge-common

deluge-common is:

Deluge is a full-featured, multi-platform, multi-interface BitTorrent client using libtorrent-rasterbar in it’s backend and featuring multiple user-interfaces: GTK+, web and console.

It has been designed using the client-server model with a daemon process that handles all the bittorrent activity. The Deluge daemon is able to run on headless machines with the user-interfaces being able to connect remotely from any platform.

This package contains data files commons to both the daemon and the various user-interfaces.

There are three methods to install deluge-common on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install deluge-common Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install deluge-common using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install deluge-common

Install deluge-common Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install deluge-common using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install deluge-common

Install deluge-common Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install deluge-common using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install deluge-common

How To Uninstall deluge-common on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the deluge-common package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove deluge-common

Uninstall deluge-common And Its Dependencies

To uninstall deluge-common and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove deluge-common

Remove deluge-common Configurations and Data

To remove deluge-common configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge deluge-common
