The DejaVu font set is based on the “Bitstream Vera” fonts, release 1.10. Its purpose is to provide a wider range of characters, while maintaining the original style, using an open collaborative development process. This package consists of the DejaVu sans-serif variable-width font faces, with unicode coverage restricted to Latin, Greek and Cyrillic.
We can use yum or dnf to install dejavu-lgc-sans-fonts on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install dejavu-lgc-sans-fonts.
Install dejavu-lgc-sans-fonts on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install dejavu-lgc-sans-fonts using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install dejavu-lgc-sans-fonts
Install dejavu-lgc-sans-fonts on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install dejavu-lgc-sans-fonts using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install dejavu-lgc-sans-fonts
How To Uninstall dejavu-lgc-sans-fonts on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the dejavu-lgc-sans-fonts package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove dejavu-lgc-sans-fonts
