What is dejagnu

DejaGnu is an Expect/Tcl based framework for testing other programs. DejaGnu has several purposes tests for any program; to allow you to write tests which will be portable to any host or target where a program must be tested; and to standardize the output format of all tests (making it easier to integrate the testing into software development).

We can use yum or dnf to install dejagnu on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install dejagnu.

Install dejagnu on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install dejagnu using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install dejagnu

Install dejagnu on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install dejagnu using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install dejagnu

How To Uninstall dejagnu on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the dejagnu package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove dejagnu
