What is decnumber-devel
The decNumber library implements the General Decimal Arithmetic Specification in ANSI C. This specification defines a decimal arithmetic which meets the requirements of commercial, financial, and human-oriented applications. It also matches the decimal arithmetic in the IEEE 754 Standard for Floating Point Arithmetic. The library fully implements the specification, and hence supports integer, fixed-point, and floating-point decimal numbers directly, including infinite, NaN (Not a Number), and subnormal values. Both arbitrary-precision and fixed-size representations are supported. The decnumber-devel package contains libraries and header files for developing applications that use decnumber.
We can use yum or dnf to install decnumber-devel on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install decnumber-devel.
Install decnumber-devel on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install decnumber-devel using dnf by running the following command:

To uninstall only the decnumber-devel package we can use the following command:
