How To Install debuerreotype on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install debuerreotype
on Kali Linux.
What is debuerreotype
A set of scripts for building reproducible Debian rootfs tarballs based on snapshot.debian.org, especially for the purposes of Docker base images.
The goal is to create an auditable, reproducible process for creating rootfs tarballs (especially for use in Docker) of Debian releases, based on point-in-time snapshots from snapshot.debian.org.
The only strictly Docker-specific script is debuerreotype-minimizing-config, which applies many configuration tweaks which are useful for Docker users and may or may not be useful outside of that context.
There are three ways to install debuerreotype
on Kali Linux . We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install debuerreotype Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install debuerreotype
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install debuerreotype
Install debuerreotype Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install debuerreotype

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude

How To Uninstall debuerreotype on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the debuerreotype
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove debuerreotype
Uninstall debuerreotype And Its Dependencies
To uninstall debuerreotype
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove debuerreotype
Remove debuerreotype Configurations and Data
To remove debuerreotype
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge debuerreotype
Remove debuerreotype configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove debuerreotype
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge debuerreotype
