What is debtags

debtags is:

debtags extracts tag information from the apt database and makes it available to the system, either in /var/lib/debtags/debtags or via apt-xapian-index.

debtags also provides some handy command to query tag information.

There are three methods to install debtags on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install debtags Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install debtags using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install debtags
