How To Install debaux on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install debaux
on Debian 12.
What is debaux
debaux is:
This package contains Perl programs and modules to build and publish Debian packages.
debaux-build automatically downloads APT sources before building, applies patches and additional sources. It has options to build the packages in an existing chroot environment, check the generated packages with lintian, install the created packages on your local system or turn them into RPM packages.
debaux-build has experimental support for downloading Perl modules from CPAN and creating the necessary Debian packaging files.
debaux-publish uploads packages and runs the scripts to create the APT sources and packages files on the remote system. debaux-publish doesn’t support the pool structure yet.
There are three methods to install debaux
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install debaux Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install debaux
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install debaux

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install debaux

sudo aptitude -y install debaux
How To Uninstall debaux on Debian 12
To uninstall only the debaux
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove debaux
Uninstall debaux And Its Dependencies
To uninstall debaux
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove debaux
Remove debaux Configurations and Data

configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
