How To Install ddrescue on CentOS 7
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install ddrescue
on CentOS 7.
What is ddrescue
GNU ddrescue is a data recovery tool. It copies data from one file or block device (hard disc, cd-rom, etc) to another, trying hard to rescue data in case of read errors. GNU ddrescue does not truncate the output file if not asked to. So, every time you run it on the same output file, it tries to fill in the gaps.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install ddrescue
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ddrescue.
Install ddrescue on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install ddrescue
using yum
by running the following command:
