How To Install ddclient on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install ddclient on Kali Linux.
What is ddclient
ddclient is:
This package provides a client to update dynamic IP addresses with several dynamic DNS service providers, such as DynDNS.com.
This makes it possible to use a fixed hostname (such as myhost.dyndns.org) to access a machine with a dynamic IP address.
This client supports both dynamic and (near) static services, as well as MX record and alternative name management. It caches the address, and only attempts the update when it has changed.
There are three methods to install ddclient on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ddclient Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ddclient using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ddclientInstall ddclient Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ddclient using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the ddclient package we can use the following command:

To uninstall ddclient and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ddclientRemove ddclient Configurations and Data
To remove ddclient configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ddclientRemove ddclient configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ddclient configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
