How To Install dante-server on Debian 9

What is dante-server
dante-server is:
Dante is a circuit-level firewall/proxy that can be used to provide convenient and secure network connectivity to a wide range of hosts while requiring only the server Dante runs on to have external network connectivity.
This package provides the socks proxy daemon (danted). The server part of Dante allows socks clients to connect through it to the network.
There are three methods to install dante-server
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install dante-server Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install dante-server
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install dante-server

After updating apt database, We can install dante-server

Install dante-server Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install dante-server

To uninstall only the dante-server

sudo apt-get remove dante-server

To uninstall dante-server

sudo apt-get -y autoremove dante-server
Remove dante-server Configurations and Data
To remove dante-server
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge dante-server
