How To Install cylc-flow on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install cylc-flow
on Kali Linux.
What is cylc-flow
Cylc (“silk”) is a suite engine and meta-scheduler that specializes in suites of cycling tasks for weather forecasting, climate modeling, and related processing (it can also be used for one-off workflows of non-cycling tasks, which is a simpler problem).
There are three ways to install cylc-flow
on Kali Linux . We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cylc-flow Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install cylc-flow
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install cylc-flow
Install cylc-flow Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install cylc-flow
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install cylc-flow
Install cylc-flow Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install cylc-flow
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install cylc-flow
How To Uninstall cylc-flow on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the cylc-flow
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cylc-flow
Uninstall cylc-flow And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cylc-flow
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cylc-flow
Remove cylc-flow Configurations and Data
To remove cylc-flow
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cylc-flow
Remove cylc-flow configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove cylc-flow
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge cylc-flow
