What is cvsps

CVSps is a program for generating ‘patchset’ information from a CVS repository. A patchset in this case is defined as a set of changes made to a collection of files, and all committed at the same time (using a single ‘cvs commit’ command). This information is valuable to seeing the big picture of the evolution of a cvs project. While cvs tracks revision information, it is often difficult to see what changes were committed ‘atomically’ to the repository.

We can use yum or dnf to install cvsps on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install cvsps.

Install cvsps on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install cvsps using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install cvsps

Install cvsps on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install cvsps using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install cvsps

How To Uninstall cvsps on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the cvsps package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove cvsps
