on AlmaLinux 8.
What is cscope
cscope is a mature, ncurses based, C source code tree browsing tool. It allows users to search large source code bases for variables, functions, macros, etc, as well as perform general regex and plain text searches. Results are returned in lists, from which the user can select individual matches for use in file editing.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install cscope
on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install cscope.
Install cscope on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install cscope
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install cscope
Install cscope on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install cscope
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install cscope
How To Uninstall cscope on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the cscope
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove cscope
