In this tutorial we learn how to install crystalcursors on Kali Linux.

What is crystalcursors

crystalcursors is:

This package contains “Crystal” style mouse cursor themes in four colours (blue, green, white, and grey) as well as green and blue “classic”, wherein certain cursors (e.g. the “hand” cursor) are white instead of coloured.

For Each of the above colours there are both right and left handed versions as well as animated and non-animated ones (except for the “classic” themes, which are all animated), for a total of 20 combinations.

There are three methods to install crystalcursors on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install crystalcursors Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install crystalcursors using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install crystalcursors

Install crystalcursors Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install crystalcursors using apt by running the following command:

Install crystalcursors Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install crystalcursors using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install crystalcursors

How To Uninstall crystalcursors on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the crystalcursors package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove crystalcursors

Uninstall crystalcursors And Its Dependencies

To uninstall crystalcursors and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove crystalcursors

Remove crystalcursors Configurations and Data

To remove crystalcursors configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge crystalcursors
