How To Install cream on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install cream
on Kali Linux.
What is cream
Cream’s motto is “Cream makes the powerful Vim text editor easy!”. It brings a completely different look and feel to the VIM for those who are used to more intuitive editors while still preserving the more powerful features of VIM. It features pull-down menus, color themes, bookmarking, auto spellcheck and more. It leaves the default VIM untouched and is started by running ‘cream’.
There are three ways to install cream
on Kali Linux . We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cream Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install cream
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install cream
Install cream Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install cream
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install cream
Install cream Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install cream
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install cream
How To Uninstall cream on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the cream
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cream
Uninstall cream And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cream
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cream
Remove cream Configurations and Data
To remove cream
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cream
Remove cream configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove cream
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge cream
