How To Install crash on Rocky Linux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install crash
on Rocky Linux 8.
What is crash
The core analysis suite is a self-contained tool that can be used to investigate either live systems, kernel core dumps created from the netdump, diskdump and kdump packages from Red Hat Linux, the mcore kernel patch offered by Mission Critical Linux, or the LKCD kernel patch.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install crash
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install crash.
Install crash on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install crash
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install crash
Install crash on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install crash
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install crash
How To Uninstall crash on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the crash
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove crash
