How To Install cppad-devel on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install cppad-devel on AlmaLinux 8.
What is cppad-devel
We refer to the step by step conversion from an algorithm that computes function values to an algorithm that computes derivative values as Algorithmic Differentiation (often referred to as Automatic Differentiation.) Given a C++ algorithm that computes function values, cppad generates an algorithm that computes its derivative values. We can use yum or dnf to install cppad-devel on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install cppad-devel.
Install cppad-devel on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install cppad-devel using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install cppad-devel
Install cppad-devel on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install cppad-devel using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install cppad-devel
How To Uninstall cppad-devel on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the cppad-devel package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove cppad-devel
