How To Install cpio-win32 on Kali Linux

What is cpio-win32
cpio-win32 is:
GNU cpio is a tool for creating and extracting archives, or copying files from one place to another. It handles a number of cpio formats as well as reading and writing tar files.
This is a win32 version of cpio. It’s meant to be used by the win32-loader component of Debian-Installer.
There are three methods to install cpio-win32
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cpio-win32 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install cpio-win32
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install cpio-win32

using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install cpio-win32

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install cpio-win32
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install cpio-win32
How To Uninstall cpio-win32 on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the cpio-win32
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cpio-win32
Uninstall cpio-win32 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cpio-win32
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cpio-win32
Remove cpio-win32 Configurations and Data

configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cpio-win32
