How To Install covered-doc on Debian 10
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install covered-doc
on Debian 10.
What is covered-doc
covered-doc is:
Covered is a Verilog code coverage utility that reads in a Verilog design and a generated VCD/LXT dumpfile from that design and generates a coverage file that can be merged with other coverage files or used to create a coverage report. Covered also contains the GUI coverage report utility that reads in a coverage file to allow interactive coverage discovery. Areas of coverage measured by Covered are: line, toggle, memory, combinational logic, FSM state/state-transition and assertion coverage.

There are three methods to install covered-doc
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install covered-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install covered-doc
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install covered-doc
Install covered-doc Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install covered-doc
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install covered-doc
Install covered-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install covered-doc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install covered-doc
How To Uninstall covered-doc on Debian 10
To uninstall only the covered-doc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove covered-doc
Uninstall covered-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall covered-doc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove covered-doc
Remove covered-doc Configurations and Data
To remove covered-doc
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge covered-doc
Remove covered-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove covered-doc
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge covered-doc
