courier-pop is:

The Courier mail transfer agent (MTA) is an integrated mail/groupware server based on open commodity protocols, such as ESMTP, IMAP, POP3, LDAP, TLS, and HTTP. Courier provides ESMTP, IMAP, POP3, webmail, and mailing list services within a single, consistent, framework.

This package provide the POP3 daemon for Courier. It only supports email stored in the Maildir format.

POP3 over TLS is handled by the regular POP3 daemon from in conjunction with the TLS wrapper.

There are three methods to install courier-pop on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install courier-pop Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
