courier-pop is:

The Courier mail transfer agent (MTA) is an integrated mail/groupware server based on open commodity protocols, such as ESMTP, IMAP, POP3, LDAP, TLS, and HTTP. Courier provides ESMTP, IMAP, POP3, webmail, and mailing list services within a single, consistent, framework.

This package provide the POP3 daemon for Courier. It only supports email stored in the Maildir format.

POP3 over TLS is handled by the regular POP3 daemon from in conjunction with the TLS wrapper.

There are three methods to install courier-pop on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install courier-pop Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install courier-pop using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install courier-pop

Install courier-pop Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install courier-pop using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install courier-pop

Install courier-pop Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install courier-pop using aptitude by running the following command:
