What is cortado

cortado is:

By embedding the cortado applet in your website, you can give viewers access to streams from either the Flumotion streaming server or any HTTP server providing multimedia files without the need for a locally installed media player supporting the correct formats on the visitor’s computer. Cortado currently include Java decoders for Ogg Theora, Ogg Vorbis (the JOrbis library), Mulaw audio, MJPEG and Flumotion’s Smoke codec.

The package will automatically be configured for apache2 but can be used with any other HTTP server. Some HTML files are included as examples of how to use the applet.

There are three methods to install cortado on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install cortado Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install cortado using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install cortado

Install cortado Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install cortado using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install cortado

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install cortado using aptitude by running the following command:
